Chelsey Byrd Lewallen | Book Launch and Clothing Repair Cafe

Come join author and illustrator Chelsey Byrd Lewallen for the launch of her first book, Clothing Alterations and Repairs: Maintaining a Sustainable Wardrobe on Saturday, April 13, at 3pm, at the 1912 Center.  During the event, the author will give a brief demonstration of basic alteration and repair techniques and University of Idaho Apparel, Textiles and Design students will be ready to help YOU repair clothing that needs to be repaired!  All are welcome to bring a clean garment that needs zipper repair, darning/ mending, and patching if you would like to learn how to extend the life of clothing! Chelsey Byrd Lewallen is an instructor in the Apparel, Textile and Design Program at the University of Idaho, USA. She is a sewist, artist, entrepreneur, and teacher dedicated to helping make clothing fit beautifully while keeping textile goods out of landfills.
