Jon Soske is an assistant professor of modern African history at McGill University and the author of Boundaries of Diaspora: African Nationalism and the Indian Diaspora in 20th-Century South Africa. Achille Mbembe is a research professor in history and politics at the University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is also co-convenor of the Johannesburg Workshop in Theory and Criticism (JWTC) and a visiting professor at Duke University's Department of Romance Studies.
