Warriors into the Wild, the first book in the Warriors series, The Prophecies Begin,  is about a cat named Rusty who is a “twoleg pet,” a human pet. At the beginning of the book, Rusty meets a clan of feral cats called Thunderclan and has to make a big decision to join or not to join.  He decides to join and is renamed by the Thunderclan leader. His new name is Firepaw, which is his apprentice name.  Near the middle of the book, he meets two friends and goes on a couple of adventures. One warrior in the clan has a big secret that Firepaw’s friend, Ravenpaw, finds out about. Firepaw figures out that he has to help Ravenpaw in a big way.

If you like the Warriors series there are four other series of books that are all about the warrior’s clans. The series are called: The New Prophecy, Power of Three, Omen Stars, and Dawn of the Clans. I enjoyed how the author would write “he purred” or “he meowed” instead of saying “he said” because the book is about cats, not people. The book’s genre is fantasy and adventure. Lots of emotions run through the book from happiness and excitement to sadness.  Warriors is by Erin Hunter and I would recommend this book and the series to people who like cats or other animals, or adventure, or all three of them.

Epic adventures. Fierce warrior cats. A thrilling fantasy world. It all begins here.

Read the book that began a phenomenon—and join the legion of fans who have made Erin Hunter’s Warriors series a #1 national bestseller.

For generations, four Clans of wild cats have shared the forest according to the laws laid down by their ancestors. But the warrior code has been threatened, and the ThunderClan cats are in grave danger. The sinister ShadowClan grows stronger every day. Noble warriors are dying—and some deaths are more mysterious than others.

In the midst of this turmoil appears an ordinary housecat named Rusty… who may turn out to be the bravest warrior of them all.

About the Author

Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. In addition to having great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior. She is also the author of the Seekers, Survivors, and Bravelands series.
